We are really excited to be finally opening an additional
room at Old Station Nursery. The Baby/Toddler room has been designed incorporating unique award winning German nursery equipment, specifically to meet the needs of our
youngest children. We have worked closely with the design team to ensure that we create an inspiring
space providing an experience and environment that
fosters and encourages the development of the childrens' senses,
their imagination and creativity.
It has been designed with the understanding that our youngest children are true explorers who with joy and curiosity question everything about the world and conquer everything new. The young children explore and experience their environment with all of their senses and the room is designed to provide opportunities to develop these senses through exploring and engaging with the environment, importantly allowing learning through group play and interaction as well as the child’s need for a sense of security and well being, for sensory experiences and also for movement and discovery of what is new!!.
The room incorporates noisy and quieter areas, feel good spots, caves and niches, soft furnishings cosy cushions and rugs, different level platforms, different materials, tactile structures and an interplay of colour and shapes.
The babies and toddlers will be encouraged to explore the space which offers a wide range of play and learning opportunities as well as the opportunity for relaxation. There will always be something to turn, thread, hide, peek through, climb, crawl through, feel and touch!
